Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering
In the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering, we live by our mission: Educate, Inspire, Innovate. We are dedicated to creating hands-on learning experiences for all students; fostering an environment of innovation and research; engaging the community to solve societal problems; and inspiring the next generation of technology entrepreneurs. Our professors are experts in their fields and enjoy working closely with students at every level. We teach our students how to invent, design, build, test, and work together so they can become employees, employers, and entrepreneurs.
Our team of interdisciplinary students once again participated in the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon. Teams were tasked with building solar-powered homes that were judged on their use of technology, market potential, and design excellence with optimal energy production and maximum efficiency. In October 2017, the UNLV team took 1st place in innovation, 2nd place in engineering, and 2nd place in architecture.
College of Education
The College of Education provides leadership in the art and science of teaching and learning. We prepare students to become teachers, counselors, specialists, educational psychologists, professors, university administrators, and researchers for every level of education. Our faculty develops innovative and transformational research inspired by authentic educational situations, supports strong relationships with local schools, and works hard to benefit our community.
A small, selective college within UNLV, Honors College brings together high-achieving students from across the country and across majors for an interdisciplinary academic experience. School of Allied Health Sciences
The School of Allied Health Sciences combines high-quality education with comprehensive clinical experiences and research. Our students share a keen interest in human health and strive to discover new science and advance the delivery of health care. The available degree programs are athletic training, diagnostic sciences, interdisciplinary health sciences, health physics, kinesiology, medical physics, nutrition sciences, and physical therapy. Whether you are considering working in a hospital, outpatient clinic, on a sports field, or in a laboratory, our programs will provide the skills and experiences you will need to succeed.
School of Community Health Sciences
Dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for people worldwide, students and faculty at the School of Community Health Sciences eliminate health disparities, prevent disease and injury, and improve the quality of health care facilities and programs. Our interdisciplinary field combines many practices including social and behavioral health, health care administration, environmental health, microbiology, epidemiology, and biostatistics. Through original research and hands-on work in laboratories, centers, and the community, we prepare our students to effect change in the global society as future leaders in the fields of public health and health care administration.
College of Sciences
In the College of Sciences, discovery and education go hand-in-hand. We provide innovative and engaging learning environments so students can go on to be researchers, private-industry employees, and health professionals. At UNLV, we are conducting exciting research in several areas, including biotechnology, nanotechnology, high-pressure science, renewable energy, nuclear materials, and seismic activity.
School of Nursing
For more than 50 years, the School of Nursing has educated nurse leaders who have improved patient care, helped Nevadans lead healthier lives, and shaped the health care profession. Our faculty and graduates lead research studies, develop innovative education, and forge long-lasting community partnerships. Each year, we prepare hundreds of students to become registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, clinical leaders, and nurse researchers.
School of Dental Medicine
The School of Dental Medicine provides a phenomenal dental education while serving the oral health needs of Nevada residents. The school offers seven unique education and specialty programs, all are dedicated to preparing leaders in the dental field. Those admitted to our pre-doctoral program receive intense hands-on training within our simulation center, community outreach programs, and general practice clinics.

The School of Medicine opened its doors to its inaugural class in 2017. As part of a world-class academic medical center, this innovative school will teach future physicians to work in health care teams, apply advanced technology, and develop classically-based treatment solutions for diseases of the present and the future.

Students in the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs desire to make a positive difference in their community. College of Fine Arts
At UNLV, we have rich traditions in the fine and performing arts. After all, that’s what people expect in the city known as the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” At the College of Fine Arts, our students’ creativity can be seen all over the world. They are featured in galleries, at international festivals, and on television and the big screen. They also perform on the stages of Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Kennedy Center, Broadway, and of course, the Las Vegas Strip.
College of Liberal Arts
The College of Liberal Arts, the largest academic college at UNLV, delivers on the ideal of a well-rounded education, offering a rich variety of majors in the humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary studies. William S. Boyd School of Law
At the William S. Boyd School of Law, we are educating ethical and effective lawyers and leaders. From the very beginning, our students are exposed to real-world challenges, professional interactions, and public clinics. For our students, community service is an integral part of their education and experience. The Boyd School of Law offers more gaming courses to juris doctor students than any other law school in the country. In addition, UNLV was the first university in the nation to offer the Master of Laws degree in Gaming Law and Regulation.
